Shorter waits for angioplasty do not lower death rates, study says

The average 'door-to-balloon' time for heart attack patients has dropped by 20%, but that has not translated into better survival rates, cardiologists say.



An intense nationwide push to speed hospital treatment for heart attack patients has been a success, cutting by 20% the average time people waited before getting their clogged arteries opened between 2005 and 2009.
